Are your teeth (or your child’s teeth) crowded, misaligned or crooked? Our orthodontic services can help correct those problems, as well as jaw misalignment, overbite or underbite, and other facial misalignments that can affect the way your smile looks.

Whether your problem is crooked teeth, crowded teeth, an overbite or underbite, or jaw misalignment, Dr. McCluer can help. We’ll walk you through your options, discuss colored braces and Invisalign, and help you make the best choice for your needs.

Invisalign or colored braces?
All types of braces have their advantages and disadvantages, but they all help to bring your teeth into proper alignment. Our practice offers two types of orthodontic devices for patients to choose from: Colored braces and Invisalign.

Colored braces, or traditional metal braces, are the most commonly used type of braces and have been in use longer than any other type of braces. They have colored ties that are changed at every orthodontic visit. Each time the ties are changed to a new color, the teeth are helped to move a little more into alignment.

Invisalign is the newest choice in orthodontics, and is a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually move teeth into alignment. You wear the Invisalign aligners full-time like braces, but unlike traditional braces, Invisalign can be removed when eating or when brushing your teeth.

Not only are Invisalign fixtures removable, but they are virtually invisible when you’re wearing them. That makes Invisalign a more attractive cosmetic choice for teens or adults, as well as being better for oral hygiene.
